Education
Socratic institute is a one-year educational programme for active university students and
graduates under 32 years of Slovak nationality. Young people are those, who will deal with and try to solve problems inherited from previous generations.
They have possibilities and abilities to make systematic changes in the society in order to find efficient and innovative
solutions for complex environmental, social and economic problems and above all to make
real steps to overcome these problems in the future.
What are the benefits you get from Socratic institute?

Lecturers
Via workshops we teach skills and knowledge that are missing in standard university education. Each
workshop is led by top Slovak and foreign lectors. We focus on following topics: vision and self-
development, public involvement, work with media, alternative economic systems, commitment of
the public within Slovak system of law, global education, intercultural facilitation & European
wilderness.
Place
Socratic institute doesn't have only one venue. The workshops are held mostly in the Educational centre in Zaježová (30 km from Zvolen) but others take place outside in specific terrain. For example in eco-farm, in High Tatras National park, but also in different cities in a form of public lectures or discussions.
Projects
Changing the society requires a lot of time. But what we can do right now is to serve as an example and contribute to change step by step. We learn from direct experience. That is why every student chooses a problem (without any topic restrictions), plans the project and turns it into practice during the year.
